Help George fight stomach cancer
Donation protected
On September 18th, our loving husband, dad and PopPop went into the hospital after experiencing several stomach issues. It was determined that he would need his gallbladder removed. After surgery, he had several complications, including throwing up, loss of consciousness and high white blood cell counts. We've recently learned that he is battling stomach cancer and are waiting for results regarding spread and staging. At this time, we know that he will be facing roughly 16 weeks of chemotherapy, with a major surgery once the tumor has shrunk enough to remove a portion of his stomach. He is unable to eat at this time and will be sent home on TPN (intravenous nutrition) while he receives chemo and awaits surgery.
"George" is known for his love and admiration for his wife (Liz) and his strong faith. "Dad" can always be counted on for a good dad joke, fatherly advice or assistance with a home project. "PopPop" can be found giving a piggy back ride, swing in his arms or simple chase around the house.
As we all know, life takes unexpected turns at times and this was certainty an unexpected diagnosis. George was still working full time when he was diagnosed and will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. He has a long history of working hard and supporting his family, from serving as a Marine through still working, at 71 years old, at Lowe's.
We are hoping that you might consider a donation to support George through this difficult time as he has always supported so many. Any donation , regardless of size, would be much appreciated and used to supplement the loss of income and upcoming expenses.
Above all, please take the time to keep George and our family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you, in advance, for your kindness, generosity and consideration.
With thankful hearts - The Carpenter Family
