Help Georgia Get Surgery

Meet Georgia, a brave and resilient young girl who has been facing extraordinary challenges for the past five years. Diagnosed with multiple rare medical conditions including Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome, Nutcracker Syndrome, Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Gastroparesis, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, and more, Georgia has undergone numerous surgeries, tests, and procedures in search of relief. Her mother, Marcie, has been her unwavering support throughout this tumultuous journey. A single mother to Georgia and her 6-year-old sister, Marcie has been by her daughter's side, traveling across the country to find medical experts who could offer the specialized care that Georgia desperately needs. Despite their determined efforts, Georgia's recent kidney autotransplant did not alleviate her severe pain, and now she urgently needs a nephrectomy. This procedure is complex and critical, as her kidney is now adhered to her small intestine, aorta, and an artery. Although local doctors are unable to perform the nephrectomy due to potential complications, there is hope on the horizon. Marcie has found a highly experienced surgeon in another state, who specializes in treating complex cases like Georgia's. However, their journey is fraught with financial challenges. During Georgia's recent hospitalization, Marcie lost her job and private health insurance, leaving them on Florida Medicaid, which the out-of-state surgeon does not accept. With the approaching deadline to maintain private insurance through COBRA, Marcie faces the daunting task of raising $3,208.08 by Friday to cover the October and November payments, with further payments of $1,609.04 due on December 1st and January 1st. These financial constraints not only jeopardize Georgia's access to life-changing surgery in December or January but also impact her ability to lead a normal teenage life. Georgia's excruciating daily pain, caused by the blockage of her left renal vein, serves as a constant reminder of the urgent need for this surgery. With no employment opportunities on the horizon, Marcie finds herself in a desperate situation, seeking a way to secure her daughter's health and well-being. Your generous support can make an immeasurable difference in Georgia and Marcie's lives, offering them hope, relief, and the chance for Georgia to experience the quality of life she so richly deserves. Any contribution, no matter the size, will be received with overwhelming gratitude and will help pave the way for Georgia's path to recovery and a brighter, pain-free future.
