Help Georgie, the Rat, Get His Surgery

Hello fur moms and dads. This is my sweet 12-week-old rat baby, Georgie. I adopted him a week ago and he had a swelling under his right eye. The swelling continued to get worse, despite assurances from the breeder that he would be okay, and he was seen by our area exotics vet.

The vet decided to try antibiotic drops and set us up with an appointment to consult a surgical specialist in two weeks to see if he can keep his eye or determine if it needs to be removed. The enucleation (eye removal surgery) was unfortunately quoted at just over $600 and I just don’t have that to spare. I need everyone’s help to try to keep this little boy alive and get his surgery, because I don’t have any other options as I don’t qualify for care credit.

Please help us keep this little boy alive.
