Help us rebuild our crumpling student dorms
Tax deductible
Casa Aguila is our student dorms in which we host volunteers, staff, and educational programs. Every year this housing hosts 500+ visitors. Due to the harsh climate of the rainforest this building has became unsafe and in critical need of repair. We have mastered the use of bamboo, a sustainable substance, for building. We plan on using this as our main material. The costs for the building include.
2 months of wages for 10 workers $18,000
Build materials and supplies $6,500
Transport of materials $500
By Rebuilding, we are supporting long-term positive human impact through Geoversity programs and local job creation supporting 10+ locals. Also supporting the conservation of 12,000+ acres of tropical rainforest in one of the world's top 25 ecological hotspots! Failure to raise enough funds will impact our 2024 programming severely.
Our story in the jungle’s of Panama started in 2001 where Geoversity has been leading a growing ecosystem of individuals and organizations united in the mission of biocultural renewal. The Mamoni Valley Preserve (MVP), is a 4,800 hectare (12,000 acres) rainforest conservancy located in one of the top biodiversity hotspots in the world and building what has now become Geoversity’s Science and Leadership Training Center and the MVP’s agroforestry center. Our “Life Changer” programs (watch video to learn more https://vimeo.com/427047984) are grounded in the hard day-to-day work of watershed conservation and the fight to avert global ecological collapse, always in team with local communities, indigenous authorities, and youth activists. We offer immersive learning experiences, guided by applied science, natural design, and indigenous wisdom, for emerging and accomplished biocultural leaders.
