Help Gerard Bring Alex Home
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
My name is Joy Corpuz-McKoy, and I am from Markham, Ontario. I am a good and long-time friend of Gerard Paras, whose husband passed away earlier this year.
The world lost a charismatic, witty, and beautiful soul on the evening of Sunday, January 13, 2019. Alex Alferez passed away in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, survived by his loving husband, Gerard.
Throughout his entire life, Alex was a generous and kindhearted man. He worked tirelessly to ensure that his family in the Philippines was taken care of financially. In death, he continued this provision by naming his surviving mother as the sole beneficiary to his life insurance policy.
Gerard has made the difficult decision to grant Alex's parents' wish by bringing his ashes back to the Philippines, where they will be laid at his final resting place. As we all know, funeral/cremation fees are quite costly, as is the airfare to the Philippines and Bermuda (where Gerard will also need to travel to take care of final paperwork on Alex's behalf).
We are humbly asking that you open your hearts to help Gerard take Alex home by donating whatever you can to help alleviate the financial and immediate pressure that is weighing on him. The raised funds will help offset the funeral/cremation fees alone, which totaled approximately $14,000.00 CAD.
On behalf of Gerard's friends and family, we thank you (in advance) for your kind generosity.
Eternal rest grant unto Alex, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
