Help German Thistle to buy a new Set of Pipe Chanters

German Thistle Pipes & Drums is a fresh face on the pipe band circuit.

Established in 2023 and based in the German capital of Berlin, it has already since its debut season gained multiple placings in pipe band competitions all over Germany, as well as the "All German Champion" title.

The band strongly wishes to not only take part in continental events, but also to compete in the motherlands of the bagpipes: Scotland and Ireland!

With its growing success and increasing ambition, German Thistle has now over 30 members from all across the country. Players mostly recruited from the North and East, but also from further away.

The band is fortunate to be driven by an experienced musical leadership.

Pipe Major/Musical Director Barry Keegan (St. Laurence O'Toole), Pipe Sergeant Alexander Jeanrenaud (Uddingston) and Leading Drummer Christoph Rienass (Ulster Scottish) are guiding the band towards excellency in shaping players to constantly improve and reach higher levels.

At the moment, the band is in grade 4 and is playing up the grades in competitions as much as possible. Ideally, the band wishes to develop and establish solid outfits in higher grades as well.

Currently, the Pipe Corp of the band is using a mixed set of pipe chanters (several models and brands). The sound of the Band is being managed but it is not the best foundation for a solid sound when the target is to compete in Scotland.

The band is therefore looking to purchase a new set of 20 Pipe Chanters.
