Help Gersson Get Back Up After a Hate Crime

Hey everyone,

 

I am not use to asking for help but my family and I truly need it for my big brother Gersson. This past weekend my brother was a victim of a hate crime because of his sexual orientation. He was walking back to his car with friends when 2 men walking by called him a “faggot” and other profanities as they proceeded to assault him. By the time his friends got to him he was unconscious on the floor.

 

This hate crime resulted in several injuries, including a spinal chord injury, a fractured eye socket and nose among other things. Due to these injuries Gersson will need surgery and have to wear a neck brace for 6 weeks leaving him unable to work. This makes it harder for him to cover all hospital bills and up coming surgeries.

 

My family has been supporting him as much as we can but he’s alone in San Diego and this is an unexpected emergency. Thank you all for reading through this and helping with whatever you can.
