Help get a wheelchair for Waylan
Donation protected
Waylan is an creative and energetic teenager who suffers from many medical issues. When Waylan was younger he suffered from Kohler's Disease which has now turned in CRPS (these are only two of his many issues). Because of these issues he suffers from moderate to severe foot pain depending on the time of year. (Cold makes it worse.) Now being in high school we are finding it hard for him to get around school because of the amount of walking required. Having a wheelchair would improve his quality of life in more ways than one.
We have been fighting to get Waylan a wheelchair since August and its to the point we can't wait any longer. The kiddos needs a chair now.
A little about Kohler's Diesase- Kohler disease is a rare bone disorder characterized by a painful swollen foot. The foot is especially tender along the length of the arch. It may include redness of the affected area. Putting weight on the foot or walking is difficult, causing further discomfort and a limp.
A little about CRPS- Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a broad term describing excess and prolonged pain and inflammation that can occur following an injury or other medical event such as surgery, trauma, stroke, or heart attack. Although CRPS can occur anywhere in the body, it usually affects an arm, leg, hand, or foot.
