Help (& advice) Constance at ballet school
Donation protected
Constance Bailey is a 13 year old ballerina who has been offered a place to study ballet at The Hammond School (one of the 4 big ballet schools in the UK).
This in itself is an amazing achievement...
BUT
Unfortunately I am not rich, and the school fees, boarding, insurance, uniforms etc. is over £30,000 a year!
I am a single Mum in a council flat, I work full time in a low paid NHS job, I do not get maintenance from my ex husband, this is simply impossible for me to afford.
Constance has autism but is incredibly creative in addition to ballet she writes poetry and plays. But she does not fit into 'ordinary school', she needs vocational education and training.
Constance has won many many dance competitions and has lots of gold medals to show for it.
Constance gets distinctions in all of her ballet exams (her last result was 88%).
Constance is so good at ballet she is an associate of the Cecchetti society.
There are no bursaries on offer and both Leeds council and my local Cllr Paul Drinkwater have told me there is no money to pay. She can't even get funding from central government.
The Wayne Sleep Foundation scheme for funding talented dancers to go to ballet scheme no longer exists.
I know it is a long shot, I know that people are very broke at the moment. If you cant pay, maybe you could share this appeal?
But this is a real chance to change my child's life.
Your help is very much appreciated.
Kind regards
Laura (Mum)
