Help get Damien a Rifton Adaptive Tricycle
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Jessica and I am fundraising for my Son Damien so that he can get a Rifton Adaptive Tricycle. The Rifton Adaptive Tricycle would help Damien with moment in his legs and help him feel more like any other kid his age who can ride a bike! Damien has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy this February. Cerebral palsy is A congenital disorder of movement, muscle tone, or posture.
Cerebral palsy is due to abnormal brain development, often before birth. Symptoms include exaggerated reflexes, floppy or rigid limbs, and involuntary motions. These appear by early childhood. Long-term treatment includes physical and other therapies, drugs, and sometimes surgery. With all of that said he has also had a stroke while still in my belly due to a Preclampsia attack which cause the right side of his body to have weakness. hydrocephalus was also formed as well during and after birth with a reminder that Damien was born with a big portion of his brain missing. We just want Damien to feel like he can be like other children his age and deserves too. I also want to mention that my insurance does not cover for this type of equipment so everything has to be out of pocket. Anything will help. Thank you.
