*UPDATE 14 Dec 20*
Darren and his family Celebrated Rod's life on Saturday in New Zealand with family and friends at the farm that Rod loved so much.
Here in Australia, Rod grandkids (Darren's 3 Children ) and I and all of Rod's great grandkids celebrated his life together at the same time as NZ.
We were able to listen to Darren's heartfelt beautiful words he spoke for his Dad, via messenger.
Darren is coming home on the 3rd of January.
I have added a touching video that I made as a tribute tp the best Father-in-law ever.
Darren is singing Rod's Favourite song in this video.
Once again, Darren and I thank you for all of your continued support through this very difficult time in our lives. If it wasn't for all your kindness and generosity Darren would not be able to stay over there to spend time with his family for Christmas.
All our Love
Darren & Julie
*UPDATE 27 Nov 20*
It is with the greatest sadness that I have to tell you that Darren's Dad passed away yesturday. Darren is still in isolation and did not make it to see his Dad but he was able to be there via video as Rod slipped away.
As you can imagine we are all devastated and we are doing everything we can to support Darren and his family through this time.
Darren wanted me to get a message to you all to say thank you so much for your generosity and all your kindness.
And from me, thank you, I feel I have so much support at this end.
Much love to you all

Hello to our friends and family,
Some of you know that Darren's Dad, Rod has been very unwell for most of this year and has been battling cancer. Due to Covid-19, Darren has not been able to travel to NZ to see his Dad and this has been very distressing for him.
In the last 24 hours Rod's illness has escalated and we now urgently need to try and get Darren to NZ ASAP.
As you can imagine there are so many obstacles in our way due to COVID-19 and we are in the process to complete all the forms to qualify for emergency entry into NZ.
NZ still has 14-day isolation requirements so Darren will need to isolate for 14 days before he can see his Dad.
As you can imagine. The quicker he gets there, the quicker he can complete isolation, and the quicker he can spend time with his Dad.
There is a cost of $3,100 for the managed isolation and although we are trying to get that cost waived under special circumstances we are unsure if we will be successful.
As I lost all of my work due to COVID-19 it will put an enormous financial cost on us if Darren takes 3-4 weeks off work.
In addition to this, the cost's of flights to NZ are inflated and as of today's the flights are $760 one way.
It is hard for us to ask this question but if you are able to put in a few dollars to help get Darren to NZ urgently to see his Dad we would be very grateful.
