Help get Gary back to Florida

Gary Portz wrestled for WWF as Scott McGhee and was best friends with my dad, The Dynamite Kid. He recently appeared on my dad’s episode of Dark Side of the Ring. I appreciated his contributions in helping me keep Dad’s legacy alive and now I see how I can help him in return.

 

Gary’s mom passed away in July of this year and due to Covid restrictions, Gary was unable to go to Yorkshire, England to sort her estate until September. As a way to save money, a family friend invited him to quarantine at their house in Scotland for eight days before returning to Florida. During these eight days Gary became very sick with Covid and ended up in the hospital for six weeks, which he has no memory of, as he was that ill! He returned to his friend’s house with a collapsed lung and a nurse would come to the house to check the tube that kept his lung drained. The tube never felt like it was in right and Gary complained about it to the visiting nurse. She thought it was fine, but once she saw blood and fluid leaking from it she had him re-admitted to the hospital. They had to take the tube out and Gary is having trouble breathing without the tube and is in a lot of discomfort. He has lost so much weight and wants to get home to his family where he can heal. Unfortunately, Gary is not allowed to fly commercial with a collapsed lung. His wife, Angela Portz, says he must fly by air ambulance and her initial look into what that would cost is $80 000! To cover any other incurring costs or to have some extra money to get him on his feet again, I would like to set a goal of $100 000!
