HELP GAZA FAMILY REBUILD AND SUPPORT RELATIVES IN NORTH GAZA

Donation protected
My name is Madeleine Crean. I am a Canadian journalist based in London. I am fundraising for my friend's family from Gaza.

UPDATE: After a painful journey and many displacements this Gaza family have made it to safety. We thank you so much for your generosity, which has helped them escape the genocidal grip of the IOF.

However this family in need of your solidarity. They left everything behind when fleeing their beloved Gaza and are in need of funds to begin rebuilding their lives abroad. In addition, they are continuing to support their aunties, uncles and cousins who remain in the North of Gaza. Their relatives face extermination and total destruction in Jabalia. They are living in constant terror, as IOF are currently killing civilians indiscriminately, and in large numbers. There are significant fears that Israel intends to ethnically cleanse, by whichever means necessary, the North of Gaza to make way for Israeli settlements.

Please, we need your steadfast solidarity. Western and Arab governments have only empty words for Palestinians. We, the people, can not leave Gaza behind.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since the 7th of October 2023, over 30,000 Palestinians have been slaughtered by the Israeli Occupation Forces and over 90% of infrastructure in the Gaza Strip has been destroyed. Families in Gaza have been through a living nightmare since that day, with many wiped off the civil registry entirely. This family for whom this fundraiser is for has lost over 40 members of their extended family, neighbors and friends, and others unlawfully detained and stripped of their clothing and dignity.

A week after the genocide, this multigenerational family of 6, including a toddler and a newborn, had to flee with tears their beloved home in Jabalia refugee camp amid criminal orders of forced displacement by the Israeli army to “head south,” warning that the area would come under heavy bombardment. In the four months since then, the family have survived on contaminated water and scarce food, experienced close encounters with death, terrifying bombardments, and been displaced multiple times.

Now this family is dispersed between Rafah and Cairo. Although the grandparents, daughter in law and two granddaughters have thankfully been evacuated from Gaza, the son who’s the father of the children is surviving in a tent in the Rafah area, with his in-law family. His physical & mental health has deteriorated due to acute stress and a severe lack of access to basic medical care.

Even if the genocide ends today, the family will be homeless: their beautiful home in northern Gaza has been first bombed and then burnt by the Israeli army before withdrawing from the area. Their humble summer house by Gaza beach was bulldozed upside down with its trees & features completely erased. These are just a few of many hardships and horrors that they and other Gaza families are facing as conditions worsen with each passing day. Those who survived the genocide have left the Strip with only a few simple items in their backpacks, and to this day are recovering from various mental & physical illnesses.

We are raising funds to evacuate those stranded behind & help those evacuated start a new life until return to Palestine is possible. The amount of money that is accepted by Egyptian officials to allow them across the Rafah border is $5,000-8,000 US dollars per person, and the price fluctuates daily. In such life and death situations, your support is essential. Please donate and share widely & help give this Gazan family hope.
