Help get Good For Her back in business!

Hi everyone! My name is Rosalie Macbeth and I am the proud new owner of Good For Her.

If you have shopped with us in the last 4 years then there is a good chance you may recognize me. I have almost two decades of experience in this industry in a number of ways. I started working at Good For Her in 2020 and, even as an employee, I knew that I was part of something special. Since 1997, Good For Her has been a hub for people who’ve been passionate about sharing and accessing sex-positive sex-education to as many different bodies and identities as possible. It is an honour to be continuing Good For Her’s legacy. I turn to you now, my friends and my community, to consider donating to this exciting new chapter and to help keep us going and growing.

We are in dire straights: in the last few months, as I have prepared to set up and open the store, I have encountered a number of roadblocks set by big finance, so-called blue-chip institutions, and funding organizations due to the fact that Good for Her technically operates within the “adult” industry. Can you imagine a vibrator or a book about queer parenting being that controversial?! Shockingly, the support for our community, educational workshops, and strong relationships with clinicians are not considered when they tell us that these grants and loans cannot be accessed by our business, which is what has led me to reach out to you now.

Why we need your help

In a world where there are so many Go Fund Mes circulating to help those seeking refuge and survival, Good For Her does not extend this ask lightly. But a commitment to our community and longtime customers drives me to ask for help because I believe that sexual health and pleasure belongs to us—I will fight to ensure that we continue to bring quality education and products to people like you and I who just want to celebrate our bodies and relationships. As a queer femme who has lived experience in sex-negative culture and disability inequity, I want nothing more than to see Good For Her thrive. I have exhausted my personal savings to see this dream through.

What your donation will allow us to do

A new location and acquisition of the business has already taken place but now we need your help to get our doors open. Specifically, we are seeking help funding three months worth of rent and utilities, three months worth of e-commerce platform and hosting costs, detailing and outfitting the new space, and a few more inventory-based purchases of the products that our customers love most.

We are so close. Your donation will allow Good For Her to open our doors and continue to serve our community. Thank you for reading and considering a donation—anything helps.
