Help get Jason home

Hi everyone. This is Laura, Jason Maguire's sister and I have created this account to reach out and ask for help on behalf of Jason and his wife Becky. Back in May, Jason was hospitalized after having a couple of heart attacks and four strokes. He was eventually moved to a skilled rehab facility for a short time and then in June, he developed pneumonia and ended up back in the hospital and he was continuing to have strokes. He was eventually moved to a skilled rehab facility the end of June and then transferred to a longer term rehab facility near the end of July. He was readmitted into the hospital in mid-August and found to be continuing to have strokes. His medical team has gone through an exhausting battery of testing throughout all of this and they have determined that Jason has a rare autoimmune disorder that causes vasculitis in the blood vessels of his brain. The course of treatment has been a short term of very high doses of steroids and chemotherapy once a month for 3-6 months with regular imaging to watch for any further strokes. Jason is currently in skilled rehabilitation again with the plan to discharge him October 6th. At this time Becky is working tirelessly to get the downstairs part of their house ready for Jason to be able to come home, but there are things they are going to need that their insurance won't cover such as a wheelchair ramp, an easy lift, and various other supplies.
