Help Get Jeff a Transplant

Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is McKenzie Eliason Long, but most of you probably know me as Jeff Eliason’s daughter Kenz!

I am writing this post in hopes that each of you who see this will act immediately to do what you can to help my Mom & Dad through what has turned out to be the toughest part of their lives together.

This is my dad, Jeff Eliason. For those of you who know my dad, you know that Jeff always has and always will be there for you! No matter what it is, Jeff has a heart of gold and sincerely has blessed the lives of so many, including my own! And for those who don’t know my dad, if you just take a moment to learn more about him, you’ll see exactly the kind of person he is. These are some of my favorite pictures of my dad from this past year. You can tell just by looking at him that he is a fighter and that he doesn’t give up, even when all odds are against him.

This past year my dad was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a lung disease that scars and damages the lung tissue making it increasingly difficult to breathe. Per his current condition, the only option he has is to seek a lung transplant. As time continues to pass, my dad has continued to push forward, but at some point, simple and daily tasks get harder to accomplish. I am so grateful to say that my dad has been referred and given the OK by his doctors in St. George and the Transplant Team at St Joseph’s Hospital in Arizona to be tested to see if he is a good candidate for a double lung transplant.

As you can imagine, the costs of this surgery will be astronomical, but we are hopeful that insurance will pick up much of the transplant cost. Even so, this first phase of testing will require upfront costs for moving to Arizona, where temporary housing will need to be obtained amongst all of the other costs like travel, living and medical expenses. Knowing my parents, they’ve never been ones to ask for much. They’ve always seemed to “make it” and work things out. However, knowing how much they would benefit from this weight lifted from their shoulders, above all else, I would ask that you consider to donate what you can to this GoFundMe.

I can’t say enough about how much my dad has always spoken about his dear family, friends and work associates. Some of you know him as Bishop E, AF’s student body president, a colleague, or just a plain good friend. I understand that times are tough, and there is a lot that our world is facing. But the Jeff Eliason you all know and love, has been given a weight that he needs some help lifting!

Please repost and share, if you feel so inclined. The Eliason family thanks you for your love that you’ve sent whether by text, Facebook, or a call. We feel so blessed with the tender mercies we’ve received thus far.

I can’t even begin to describe how much he, my mom and all of us kids and grandkids would be forever in your debt for helping our husband, dad, grandpa and friend! To quote one of my dad’s favorite movies, “Life’s a climb, but the view’s great.” ❤️
