Help get Jo Doe back to work and college

We need your help after a terrifying car accident. Jordan is starting her senior year of college at UNE, she wants to be a Nurse Practitioner and was very excited to be headed back to school. She currently works part time at a nursing facility in the Dementia ward and takes care of elderly patients in their final days. This young woman has a heart of gold and shines a bright light on every single person she interacts with. Sunday, she packed all of her belongings in her Kia and headed south behind her best friend to come home and find an apartment (first time off campus) and start the new school year.
While driving down the freeway, a wasp flew in her window and hit her in the eye hard enough to sting her and bruise her eyelid. Her car went off the road, her front tire blew, and sent her rolling down the steep embankment into the trees below. She told me that the second she felt the pull, she thought she was going to die and she closed her eyes. These Maine freeways don’t leave much room for error. She said that when she opened her eyes, she was upside down hanging from her seat belt with a large tree an inch from her head, and her cat Stash on the the roof which was now the floor. Unfortunately Stash was spooked when people showed up, and she ran out into the woods. Her kitty is her best babe, and she is out there somewhere, but despite hours on end of searching, we have not located her yet. Hopefully one of the near by towns may give her a chance to survive.
Jordan was lucky enough to have mostly avoided physical harm, scratches on her face and head from glass and tree branches, a small laceration on her arm, a concussion and whiplash, and bruising from her seat belt holding her upside down. Mentally, this is a major trauma that has still not quite set in, and financially this is going to be a struggle to replace her car. We only had liability because it was older and paid off, so we are looking to our community and friends for some help with the out of pocket expense of getting her another decent used car, and financial obligations that will be hard with unpaid time off of work because she is only part time due to full time college. As a single mother, this is hard to accommodate alone, and any gesture big or small will be a great help. Thank you in advance to everyone that has sent well wishes and kindness our way. She will get through this. We appreciate every single one of you. ❤️
