John passed away peacefully on the 3rd of July 2024. On the 27th of June, 2024, John was doing what he loved, cycling near Custer State Park in South Dakota when he was struck by a car and injured severely. 

John is a beloved husband of 61 years to Jeanne, father to three beautiful daughters and has a host of grandchildren who are loved. John has been an active member of the Fort Collins cycling community, Nebraska Cornhusker supporter and philanthropist.

John and Jeanne were here in South Dakota to support a camp for Native American children. John’s life is marked by doing acts of kindness, from buying breakfast for unsuspecting families, snow blowing neighbors driveway to picking up trash as he walked. Random acts of kindness provided John with great joy. Again your acts of kindness have marked our lives in such a positive way!
