I’m writing this in hopes of helping a friend of mine. They are like family and it hurts me to know the nightmare they are going through. Her daughter is in a very critical condition; she was admitted to Long Beach Memorial Hospital almost a month ago. Gladys Armenta has been receiving dialysis for about 5 years now and was recently going to Davita United Dialysis Center in Long Beach due to renal failure. She was next in line to receive a kidney transplant. On October 7th, she was getting dialysis at the center and they forced her to leave in the ambulance due to her having an anxiety attack. She did not want to go and even asked her nurse to give her 10 minutes to calm herself down. However, the nurse ignored her wishes and called the ambulance. Her and her mother were requesting to be sent to Long Beach Memorial; which was across the street from the center; or to Saint Francis. Which they also denied stating that they have to send her where they were sending her to. They took her to College Medical Center, which is known as a Mental Hospital. She has never had any mental problems. There they reported that she was complaining about chest pain, which was a lie, and were planning in admitting her. She spoke to her sister saying she wanted to go home that she was feeling fine and didn’t understand why they wanted to admit her. While being in their care for just a few hours she suffered a heart attack. She has never suffered from any problems but kidney problems. One nurse came to her parents and confessed that Gladys was asking for her mom anxiously and asking the nurses to call her but they denied her wishes. She couldn’t do it herself due to her phone battery being dead. Her family tried for two months to get her transferred and getting a lawyer, yet the hospital refused to give her parents the records because they need the patients consent; which she is not capable of doing. Which her mother still hasn’t received the records due to the Hospital giving them the run around. During those two months they neglected her. They forced Gladys into a nursing home named Pacific Care. She was there for 6 days and her health declined tremendously. She is now in Long Beach Memorial where the parents kept requesting for a second opinion and wanted them to do their own evaluations, which they did not do until her health was declining which was 10 days after she was admitted. There is a specific doctor that her parents wanted off their daughters case since she was a doctor who followed her from College Medical Center-Pacific Care and now to Long Beach Memorial. They also refused to get her off the case until a few days ago when they returned her back to the ICU. They fear the safety of their daughter and her mother has been asking for proper training to take for her daughter at home. This 23 year old girl has been neglected so much by these hospitals, she has tremendous amounts of bruises, holes in her body, skin peelings and more. We would be very grateful & will appreciate any donations to help the family pay for her medical expenses and for a lawyer to give Gladys Justice. Thank you very much and God bless everyone
