Help free Officer Michael Rusk

Michael Rusk was sexually assaulted, and defended himself justifiably. He is a young police officer whose superior officer tried to rape him according to evidence. He is now being charged with malicious wounding, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He defended himself against a sexual assault, and his cries for help went unanswered. He told the 911 operator, along with all of the responding officers he was sexually assaulted, but all of his pleas for help were ignored. They threw this young officer in jail, placed him on unpaid administrative leave, all the while his attacker and superior is recovering nicely on paid leave, with no charges filed as of yet. This new investigative report above shows that this wasn't a simple verbal disagreement where a young officer lost his cool as originally reported, but rather a superior officer making unwanted advances to a subordinate, which later escalated into a sexual assault. While there isn't public video of what occurred the following hour after this video was taken and when the incident occurred, I'm sure as time goes on the truth will surface. Until then, this officer has zero income, zero support from his administration, zero means of paying his monthly bills, and hefty legal fees. An innocent young man is fighting for his freedom.

Men can be victims, too. The bravery of this officer coming forward should be commended, as should all other SA survivors for speaking their truth. No one, regardless of gender or sexual orientation should be subjected to sexual assault, period. Hopefully justice will be served, and this young man's name and honor reclaimed.
