Help get Leona to world scout jamboree Korea 2023

Hello my name is leona I am 14 years old,I’m a scout at 3rd Exeter Air Scout Group (raf 47)

I attended a selection camp in October with 160 other scouts for the weekend to prove why I should represent Devon scouts and 3rd Exeter air scouts at the world jamboree in Korea in 2023.I was very lucky to be picked to fill one of the 72 spaces available to Devon scout groups. The jamboree only happen every 4 years so you only get one chance to go. And I’m so excited to be going.

here’s about about me.

I started my scouting journey when I was five and a half years old, in beavers I got to the highest award I could get gaining the bronze award. I also got beaver of the year. When I was 8, I moved on to cubs where I had the best time camping, hiking,climbing, swimming, and learning about new things.I also carried the flag on parades and just loved it. Also I got my silver award.but I soon turned ten and a half years old yes, I become a scout. We do so many things as a group, we met the pilots of the red arrows, firemen, night hikes, of 15 mile hikes and camps in and out of Devon. In 2019 I got scout of the year for being kind, helpful to all, looking after and caring for the younger scouts. Always being happy, dressed smartly all the time.

I carry the poppy wreath for the Mayors party of Exeter and the group flag when asked to do so. We attend all the parades and Remembrance Sunday each year.

I’m a senior scout of the group.

Ive now moved up to Explorers in January 2022 with 1st beer it’s strange not being in Exeter for it but beer is a wonderful group with lovely leaders.

I have also now started being a young leader in the cub pack at 3rd Exeter air scouts, where my scouting days started as a beaver 8 years ago.I love watching the cubs enjoy there nights in cubs and I just love helping and caring for younger children.

I’m doing my DofE ive done the training hikes camp ect I’m just doing a new skill, fitness, and volunteering that I’m doing in cubs.

Im also a raf air cadet at honiton squadron (1064).

in 2020 I was ment to go to kanderstag with my scout group. Sadly this didn’t happen due to covid 19 so the money I raised has been put towards this trip.

I will be fundraising but all your help and suport to get me on this dream trip this is once in a life time opportunity for me. Every little will help
