Battling Cancer: A Young Warrior's Fight for Life
Donation protected
We are pulling all resources together to get our sweet friend, Malachi Rios, to the Hope4Cancer Treatment Center in Cancun, Mexico by the end of April.
In the prime of his youth, Malachi Rios, a 17-year-old senior at Reedley High School, has been waging a courageous battle against stage 4 testicular cancer since November 2022. Imagine, a young man, with his whole life ahead of him, forced to miss the last two years of high school – two of the most transformative years in a person's life – to confront this devastating disease head-on. Through it all, Malachi has remained steadfast and as positive as one can possibly be given the circumstances. He is truly a remarkable young man with an unwavering fighting spirit, determined to overcome the obstacles in his path.
Despite enduring standard treatments, high-dose chemotherapy, stem cell therapy, and an RPLND surgery to remove lymph nodes, Malachi's cancer has returned, mutating into a rare and platinum-resistant form. While testicular cancer typically has a 95% cure rate, heartbreakingly, Malachi falls into the remaining 5% – a statistic that no child should ever have to face.
With limited treatment options available in the United States for Malachi's rare form of cancer, his family has turned to the Hope4Cancer Treatment Center in Cancun, Mexico, a renowned facility offering a comprehensive range of cutting-edge therapies under one roof. The specialists at this hospital have reviewed Malachi's medical records and laid out a treatment plan to begin in April, but the financial burden is substantial.
We are urgently calling upon the generosity of our community to raise $50,000 to cover the costs of Malachi's life-saving treatment. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a profound difference in this young warrior's fight against cancer. If everyone gave just $10 and shared this cause with one more person who also gave $10, we could alleviate the financial burden and allow Malachi to focus solely on his recovery.
Malachi's treatment plan includes a 3-week outpatient clinic treatment ($27,800), Sono-Photo Dynamic Therapy ($7,500), and Photo Dynamic Therapy Plus ($9,300). These advanced therapies offer hope where conventional treatments have failed, but they come at a significant cost.
Please, consider giving something, anything helps! Your donation could be the light that guides Malachi towards a future filled with promise and possibilities. Together, we can lift this remarkable young man's spirits and empower him to kick cancer's ass once and for all.
You can contribute by donating, sharing this campaign, and keeping Malachi and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Your support could be the difference between despair and triumph, between a life cut short and a life lived to its fullest potential.
Thank you, and may God bless Malachi and all those fighting this battle.
