Help get Milo to Chemo and Dr Apps

Milo was recently diagnosed with Cancer, he has got his kidney removed along with the large 11cm mass attached to it. The cancer has spread but we still don’t know to what extent. He will have to do Chemotherapy and all his appointments in Chicago at the most amazing hospital they have in Illinois Ann and Lurie. Unfortunately my car is barely holding on. In September I put about 1500 in it but it still needs a lot of work to be safe and make the 100 mile trip from Joliet to Chicago then back home to Joliet. So far they are saying once a week for six months but that is pretty standard if the cancer hasn’t spread aggressively. It could be more times a week for a longer time frame. Not only that but his check ups with oncology are separate than his chemo so in their words this will be “a long time commitment of five years!” It is not in my budget to get a new car as I do not work. I only do online courses and take care of my kids. With traveling to these appointments I am thinking anything to make this easier on us. And that is driving my own car where I can have what I need and the kids car seats and bags and comfort items.

my car is a 2006 Mitsubishi endeavor. What I know for sure is the back breaks need to be done. The back wheel bearings, the entire car needs a tune up because it is not driving on all axels. But that’s only what I know because I have not taken it to a mechanic. One window doesn’t work and it’s on Milo’s side and I would really like to fix that. And the trunk doesn’t stay held up which I would really like to fix that as well because it is going to be harder than ever with the strollers and bags and utilizing my trunk with all the in and out and winter coming.

I know times are hard for us all but my baby’s life depends on me getting him to these appointments!!

anything will help as I’m looking to buy the pieces online and have someone I know do the work and I pay them labor.
