Help get Misty Selph cancer treatment in TX

Meet Misty Selph. This woman is a mother, a wife, a teacher, a daughter, a friend, and if you have met her, you know how amazing this woman is. Misty is one of the sweetest people on this planet. She is a kind, compassionate, and loving person, whom most people strive to be like. She is a caring, hands-on preschool teacher at our local elementary school who loves each of her school babies as her own. She is a proud wife of a former law enforcement officer (of 20+ years) who spent many years balancing a family as he served and protected our city. She has been an involved baseball/softball/volleyball momma to her two sweet children. She is a devoted daughter to her parents, who are very involved in the daily routines with her family. Finally, she is a dear friend who would do anything for anybody at a moment's notice.
Misty also has a very rare stage-4 thyroid cancer that has spread to other areas of her body. Numerous doctors have told them that there is only one doctor in this country who knows how to treat this, and he is in Texas. Unfortunately, as severe as that sounds, the insurance they have paid religiously for over 25 years is refusing to approve the referral. Misty and her family have tried relentlessly for weeks to appeal the denial of coverage but are getting nowhere and feeling pretty defeated. They have reached out for support from local officials or anyone with any connections. While we are praying that a miracle comes through and believing God has a plan for the Selph family. We want to be as proactive as possible to help Misty get the care and treatment she needs at the MD Anderson Cancer Institute in Houston.
The deposit to see the doctor is $13,700. They will have to be in Houston for 3-5 days to run tests. Hotels, food, childcare, etc., add up fast. Please, if you can, find it in your heart to donate (whatever amount, big or small), share, and pray.
Additionally, if you have any connections or reach with either Georgia/Savannah/Garden City elected officials, Blue Cross, Blue Shield insurance company, or the MD Anderson Cancer Institute in Houston, please reach out.
