Help Get Our Adventure Cat Back On The Trail

Donation protected

This is Tilly, she's an adventure cat and she's 7! She loves deep trail walks, exploring unseen creeks and woods, and adventure in the great outdoors! However in June in 2020 we noticed that her behavior started to change. Tilly started not wanting to walk as far as she normally did on the trails, she had less energy, and she started drooling (which is a sign of nausea in cats). We took her to the vet where they did an ultrasound and they found out devastating news, Tilly had tumors on her liver, some of which were pretty large, and putting pressure on her stomach. At the time there was nothing we could do due to the size of the tumors and their positions on the liver and she was given 1 and a half to 2 years to live. However at her follow up ultrasound in January of 2021 we found out that the tumors had grown. Due to their new position and size, and an amazing surgeon we found, they believe that they can remove the biggest tumors that are causing the most problems for her to relieve that pressure on her stomach! This was music to our ears! The surgery would cost anywhere from $4,119 to $5,224 UDS and my family could use some help raising some of the money in order to get her the surgery. We found Tilly at the Animal Humane Society about 5 years ago and she's had a big effect on, not just my life, but many lives. I'm 16 and ever since we adopted her, Tilly became my best friend and we are never very far from one another. I love the outdoors, so when I discovered that my best friend also loved the outdoors, we grew even closer as we walked every nature trail in our area. I struggle from anxiety and ODC and Tilly has become one of my biggest supports. Tilly often knows when my mind is racing and my anxiety is rising. She will come and sit on my lap and start purring, giving me something to focus on, keeping me from getting stuck in my own thoughts, and grounding me in the moment. But it's not just me who's life has been changed thanks to Tilly. Tilly helped my friend overcome her fear of cats due to her calm demeanor. She taught the our neighbor kids how to behave around and properly pet cats thanks to her seemingly endless patience! When we're out on the trails, a cat walking on a harness like a dog draws a lot of attention but Tilly doesn't mind! Tilly loves meeting new people on the trails and even appears sad when people pass her by without giving her a pet. She'll approach anyone who will let her with her tail high and rub against their legs while meowing affectionately. Even dogs aren't safe from Tilly's friendly personality! We hope to raise $2,500 UDS to cover some of the cost of the surgery. Tilly means a lot to a whole lot of people, including myself, we  greatly appreciate any donations that help us reach our goal but Tilly doesn't have a lot of walks in the trails left with us with these tumors in her. Please consider donating to help us get our adventure cat back on the trails!
