Help get Baby Sunny home

Anna Soleil Mackey aka Sunny was born at 30 weeks in Reno, NV on March 10, a week before her mama Flo, papa Daniel and big brother Orson were set to drive back home to Las Vegas. Flo had just a week left in her travel contract when she sustained a placental abruption that triggered Sunny’s early arrival.

Mama Flo did not find out she was pregnant until she was 4 months pregnant which is after she signed her travel contract. Daniel had to step away from work due to a back injury and most importantly to spend more time with Flo and Orson especially since Flo has been also dealing with the tragic loss of her father back in August. So with that, Flo and Daniel had to save every penny from the contract for maternity leave since travel nursing does not provide any paid leave or short term disability.

Since they might need to stay in Reno, NV until Sunny is term which is not until May 15, they are worried about doubled expenses from having to pay for their mortgage/utilities in Las Vegas while paying for accommodations/meals in Reno without having any income coming in. Flo reached out to her friends and the travel gypsy page on Facebook for moral support on how to handle this unique situation. Some nurses suggested for her to start a gofundme for help. So it was that point why this gofundme was started.

Sunny’s family is reaching out for any help possible to help cover for accommodations/meals as Reno, NV has a higher cost of living than Las Vegas. They would also need help with childcare costs for Orson while Flo and Daniel are in the NICU with Sunny. They also need help covering for medical expenses along with the possibility of air medical evacuation for Sunny to a NICU in Las Vegas once she is stable enough. Flo’s insurance does not cover for transport unless it’s an emergency. The goal amount does not reflect that cost since they are not sure how much that will be. 

It will be a long journey for Sunny and her family but with your help it will ease her transition back home.
