Help get the Charles family back on their feet

Hi, my name is Becky, and I am a long-term client and friend of Tanisha Charles. I am posting this fundraiser with her permission. Tanisha is the owner of Leave the Dust to Me Cleaning Services, a woman and diversly owned family cleaning business. Tanisha and her husband Melvin both work extremely hard and tirelessly for their clients.

On the evening Thursday, September 8, 2022 a portion of earth collapsed near West 22nd Avenue and Arctic Boulevard, causing a landslide to wipe out half of Tanisha's family's home and bury their family car under a massive pile of mud and debris. Their 10-year-old daughter, Palmer, was in the room that was destroyed and was knocked unconscious and trapped in the corner. We thank God for her miraculous recovery and that she is still with us.

We are raising funds to help Tanisha and her family (husband Melvin, 14-year-old son Renin, 10-year-old daughter Palmer, and 9-year-old son Frazier) get back on their feet. Palmer and Frazier’s rooms were completely destroyed. They are in temporary housing but are hoping to move by the end of the month to their new space. Funds raised will help cover moving expenses, monthly bills, replacing cleaning supplies to continue running their business, and destroyed furniture and items as they unfortunately did not have renter's insurance.

• Clothing for Palmer (girls’ size 10/12, shoe size 5, undergarments size medium. She has an emo style and prefers baggy clothes like sweatsuits. She loves animae)

• Clothing for Frazier (boys’ size 10/12, shoe size 5 undergarments size medium. He likes athletic clothing, Minecraft, Fortnite, and Dragon Ball Z)

• Hobby items for the kids: art/drawing, crafts, action figures, LED lights

• Bedroom items for the kids: beds, dressers, blankets, and pillows

• Door Dash or Dinner Factory gift cards

• Walmart, Target, or Fred Meyer gift cards
