The Jamerican: A Black Woman-Owned Soul Food Revolution

Donation protected
Help us raise €38,000 to secure our permanent home!

The Urgent Opportunity
A fully equipped restaurant space in Neukölln is available for just €15,000 (normally €80K+). But we must act fast—this rare chance won’t last. Your support now ensures we don’t lose this dream location.

Pop-Up Fundraiser (May 16–18 at Crazy Bastard Kitchen)
This is Phase 1! Every meal sold gets us closer to our goal. Pre-order now or walk in—but hurry, food is limited!

The Vision: Food as Memory, Resistance, and Joy
The Jamerican is a Black woman-owned soul food kitchen fusing Jamaican and Black American flavors with Berlin’s creative heart. Think full plates, whole wings, authentic spices:

THE JAMERICAN MENU
(Flavors from Jamaica + Black American soul, unapologetically generous)

CHICKEN & WAFFLES (€22)
3 whole wings, 7" Belgian waffle, a healthy pat of butter, secret maple syrup blend

FRIED CHICKEN DINNER (€26)
chicken leg and thigh fried crispy, mac and cheese, cabbage, yams

JERK CHICKEN DINNER (€26)
quarter chicken, rice & peas, cabbage, whole plantain

JERK TOFU DINNER (€20)
Mac & cheese and smothered cabbage, plantain

SIDES (€3-5)
Mac & cheese | Cabbage | Plantain | Rice & peas | Cornbread

FRESH JUICE COCKTAILS (€6–9)
Beet Passion | Ginger Citrus | Carrot Mint (with locally sourced Hauptstadt honey)

This isn’t just food—it’s healing, celebration, and cultural survival. Recipes passed down from my Jamaican family, New York upbringing, and years of hosting amazing community holiday dinners in Berlin.

What Is Needed (Breakdown)
€38,000 covers:
1️⃣ €20,000 – Space takeover + permits, kitchen gear, contingencies
2️⃣ €18,000 – Six months’ rent (breathing room to grow)
3️⃣ €6,000 – Staff, supplies, and inventory for launch

✨ Why This Matters
Proven Demand: The current tenant (Crazy Bastard Kitchen) made €30K–60K/month. We can match—and exceed—that.

More Than a Restaurant: We’re a cultural hub with food herstory, musical guests and the Susu Fund supported by Cafe Libertade—giving back to our community.

A Legacy Project: This is about claiming space for diaspora flavors in Berlin—for the long term.
