What Is the “Jane Marie”?
The Rock Island “Jane Marie” is far more than just a railcar — she’s a rare and irreplaceable piece of American railroad history. Our nonprofit, ERREC, is on a mission to save, restore, and return her to the rails as a traveling museum and educational exhibit, operating alongside the world-famous Santa Fe 2926 steam locomotive.
Why We’re Trying to Buy It
Preservation:
The Jane Marie is one of the last surviving Rock Island lounge cars. If she’s not saved soon, this beautiful artifact could be lost forever.

Once restored, the Jane Marie will become a mobile museum, inspiring new generations to discover railroad history and America’s golden age of train travel.

ERREC is a verified nonprofit, built by railfans, historians, and volunteers — not a private collector. 100% of all funds go directly toward the purchase, transportation, and certification of the Jane Marie.
