Our Story
Founded by passionate railfan Jonathan Cordova, the Extreme Railfan Redwood Empire Corporation (ERREC) is dedicated to saving, restoring, and sharing America’s historic railroading legacy. For decades, we’ve brought historic trains and locomotives back to life, offering railfans, historians, and the public an opportunity to experience rail history firsthand.
From documenting rail lines to restoring iconic equipment, ERREC believes that every railcar and locomotive has a story to tell — and that story deserves to be preserved.

The Jane Marie: A Piece of Rock Island History
The Rock Island “Jane Marie” lounge car is not just a railcar — it’s a rolling testament to mid-century rail elegance and design. Built in the 1940s, the Jane Marie served passengers traveling across America, offering comfort, luxury, and a window into a golden era of rail travel.
Over time, many of these historic cars were lost, scrapped, or left to deteriorate. The Jane Marie, however, survived, and now ERREC is committed to saving her from permanent loss. Our vision is to restore the Jane Marie and transform her into a mobile museum and lounge car, allowing rail enthusiasts, students, and the public to experience history up close.
