Help Us Save the Jane Marie – One Railcar. One Chance.
The Rock Island “Jane Marie” lounge car, built in the 1940s, is a rare survivor from the golden age of American rail travel. Once a symbol of comfort and elegance, historic railcars like Jane Marie are disappearing forever.
This is our chance to save one.
The Extreme Railfan Redwood Empire Corporation (ERREC) is raising funds to purchase, move, and restore the Jane Marie before she is lost for good. Our vision is to transform her into a mobile museum and lounge car, allowing railfans, students, and the public to experience history firsthand.
Why the Jane Marie Matters
Preserves irreplaceable American railroad history
Protects a rare Rock Island passenger car
Educates future generations through hands-on history
Keeps historic rail equipment accessible to the public
Once a railcar like this is scrapped or neglected, it can never be replaced.
