Help GG's parents pay for her cancer treatment
Please help my friends with their medical bills!
This request shouldn’t be necessary, but it is. The Thompsons, Oak Park, Sacramento residents, have been dealing with medical issues of their daughter and could use some community support. Please help!
Virginia, GG in short, was born on April 21, 2018 with Down Syndrome. She has two loving parents and two older siblings Kiera and Ollie.
In August of 2018, when GG was just 4 months old, they diagnosed her with a ventral septal defect (VSD) and she needed open heart surgery. She has made it through that ok and is growing into a spunky little girl. She is a strong willed, happy, and so very loveable little girl.

In March of this year, GG was diagnosed with Leukemia. She has been in the hospital since March 26 and started Chemo and steroid treatment. She is dealing with it possibly better than many adults would, but the steroids make her agitated in addition to not leaving her room in the kids’ oncology department for two weeks and counting. Mom has preemptively shaved her head to make it less traumatic when time comes. She has a good chance to recovery, luckily, but the medical bills will be high. Her parents are still paying off the remaining $8,000 from GG’s heart surgery and are now looking at $15,000 in copays (with insurance).
Please help the Thompsons deal with the cards they have been dealt. One shouldn’t have to worry about medical bills in addition to their loved ones’ health and well-being (and life).
Thank you!
