Fundraiser to evacuate a family from Gaza to Egypt

Donation protected
Dear visitors,

I am Nora from Canada, and, like many of you, I live with the discomfort of living comfortably while wars are waged against innocent people on the other side of the world. About 3 months into the invasion of Gaza, I got in touch with a mother of a one-year-old living in the south of the Gaza Strip, in Rafah. The mother, Heba Khaled, resided with her husband, child, and extended relatives in their home and managed to avoid displacement and tent living for a while. As the onslaught persisted and the besieged enclave shrank, constricting over one million individuals into cramped quarters before encroaching upon them, Heba and her family were forced to leave their home. Like so many others, they lost their home, possessions, and continue in their struggle for survival.

Prior to the war, Heba’s daughter, Ghazal, was a healthy, thriving baby.

Now, at one and a half, Ghazal is sadly suffering from both anemia and malnutrition. Due to the scarcity of food and the heightened demand for essential supplies, Ghazal's parents are unable to provide her with the sustenance she needs.

Her mother, who is 27, studied Accounting and Business Management in Gaza. Her career aspirations came to a halt as the war progressed and the situation in Gaza worsened, day by day. Neither she nor her husband is able to work and financially support the family. Such is life in Gaza, now. No work, no school, no infrastructure. Only death, destruction, and a questionable future. Despite their hope of the war ending, Ghazal's parents are desperate to give Ghazal a better chance at life.

This fundraiser aims to give Ghazal and her parents just that, a better chance at life. The money will be used to safely evacuate the family from Gaza to Egypt. Heba has a friend in Jordan who will receive the money and coordinate the evacuation. In the event that the evacuation is unachievable due to a prolonged border closure or unforeseeable challenges, the funds will be used to financially support the family in Gaza.

Living in Gaza is difficult, and so is the decision to leave. But for Heba, and for countless others, fear of an unknown future weighs heavily in that decision. Please maintain an open heart and mind, recognizing that those inside rely on us, those outside, as their lifeline. May God send help their way.

Kindly contribute and share this campaign among your friends and family. This could be the pivotal impact you have on a single family’s struggle for survival amidst conflict. Most importantly, keep Ghazal, her parents, and all the people of Gaza, in your prayers. May God bless you and reward you manifold.
