Help Ghost Get His TPLO Surgery
Tax deductible
Ghost is a gorgeous German Shepherd who has been with us a while as we search for his forever home. Recently, Ghost was running around fine, playing with the other dogs/foster dogs. The next day, he was holding his leg up; he must’ve twisted it during play. We thought it would get better with some rest, but when his normally active self was laying down, not wanting to play, and when he was not wanting to eat, we knew it must be bad.
He went to the vet, and they kept him due to needing sedation for x-rays. Today, they called to let us know the news – bad news =(
Ghost needs TPLO surgery on his rear left leg.
Google definition is “Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) is a surgical treatment used to stabilize the stifle joint when the Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CrCL) has ruptured. The CrCL is similar to the ACL in a human knee, but unlike in humans, the CrCL rarely ruptures from sudden trauma in an otherwise healthy ligament.”
Ghost is scheduled for this surgery on September 18th. We need to help him and have this done as soon as possible. He is a young, healthy dog (not even 1 ½ years old yet), and we want him to be healed and pain-free.
Rescue is extremely difficult right now - just being able to exist with healthy dogs, not needing anything. Add in a few dogs who need surgery, a dozen puppies who need to be altered, and some older pups who were too thin to be altered, and we have a lot of medical bills headed our way. Ghost is priority #1 right now as he cannot go on in pain - we need him all better to get back to his normal wacky self. Please share and please donate - every dollar counts!!
