Help Gibbs find his smile again!

We are asking for your financial help for our dear friend, Gibbs Hasty. Gibbs has been a part of the Atlanta arts community for a long time, including being a co-founder of Nexus, now known as the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. He was also a beloved instructor at The Art Institute of Atlanta for over 20 years and mentored many students who still keep in touch with him today. Because of a stroke several years ago as well as the loss of monies due to a bad personal loan , Gibbs is having financial problems, cannot work a steady job or even drive. He is, however, and always will be, an artist with a passion for art making, although it is at times a physical and financial challenge. Some of you may have seen his work recently in group shows at Gallery 378.
He is dealing with tax liens on his home from both the state and federal government but his most pressing issue right now is his need for immediate but expensive dental work. His situation has become so serious and painful that he is not able to eat well anymore and is losing weight because of it. The cost of this dental work will run upwards of $9000 and that is why we need your help! Any amount that you can spare would be so greatly appreciated to help Gibbs get his dental issue under control. Gibbs has always been there for so many of us, either as a teacher, mentor or friend. Please help us now so that we can get Gibbs back to his old goofy, lovable self again. Thank you!!!!
