Help Gillian Rowat with Cancer Related Expenses

We are devastated to say the least, to let you know that Gillian has been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma mastitis to her lungs, more commonly known as stage 4 breast cancer.
For those of you who know Gillian a little, you'll know that she is down-to-earth, outgoing, lovable and the kind of person who would do anything to help anyone, even a stranger. Although, it's hard to remain a stranger around G, as you'll likely be chatting like you've known her all your life within 15 minutes of meeting. If you've known Gillian for a long time, you'll know that she has already been burdened with more than her fair share of health problems, and this diagnosis at the age of 32 is extremely unfair.
Gillian has already started treatment at the Kingston Cancer Clinic at the General Hospital, Kingston, Ontario. Her short-term treatment plan, if all goes well, is 4 months of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, with 5 weeks of radiation to follow. She is awaiting the results of genetic testing, and may also require a full hysterectomy. Unfortunately, there is no cure for metastatic breast cancer, and Gillian will require treatment and medication for the rest of her life.
We now need to focus on making sure that Gillian has the funds she needs to get through her treatments. She is obviously not able to work for the foreseeable future so please join us in donating anything you can. It will be a huge help.
We are lucky to have OHIP, but we all know there will be countless uncovered expenses for Gillian in this difficult time. Even the things you don't think about right away, like paying for parking at the hospital or switching to a sugar free, sodium free, organic diet are going to add up over time.
Our goal is to help ease the financial burden and reduce stress for Gillian during her treatment. All funds raised will go towards uncovered medical and living expenses to support Gillian in both the short and long term.
