Help Gina, owner of Nyack’s Sushi & Kimchi
Gina Ko is the owner of Nyack’s Sushi & Kimchi on Rt 59. For those of you who know, she is the warm, friendly and exuberant woman who takes orders on the phone, and greets customers at the door.
Gina’s home was completely destroyed by the recent floods from Hurricane Ida. She came home from her usual late shift at Kimchi Sushi to find her entire home flooded with water and her elderly dog swimming in her apartment, struggling to stay alive. The water was so high that her parking lot looked like a lake. Needless to say, everything in her home has been destroyed. She has no insurance. The dog is doing alright for now, she says, but clearly this has been devastating and traumatic in many ways.
I am Vivienne Wan of Nyack, and a loyal customer of Kimchi Sushi. Like many others, I have always enjoyed Gina’s warm and generous spirit. She always asks how her customers how they are, especially during the ups and downs of recent times.
Let’s help Gina get back on her feet, and reciprocate some of the warmth she serves up with those delicious Bibimbap bowls. The recent years have been especially difficult for restaurants, and the devastation of this flood is going to be a hard one for her to bounce back from. Let’s come together as a community and help her out. Every little bit counts.
Thank you in advance.
Vivienne
