Help Gina Afford to Stay in LA
Donation protected
Hello everyone. Gina would never want to ask anyone for assistance, because that's the kind of person she is, so I am spearheading this fundraiser on her behalf.
I know this is a tough time for everyone, so anything that you're able to give would help immensely. Gina desperately needs funds in order to pay rent and not have to move from LA.
Back in February of this year, Gina was laid off from her job. Since then, she has tried looking for a new job every single day, in-person or remote, but to no avail. She has an interview at a coffee shop next week and we're hopeful, but we're not sure if that will pan out.
Gina is officially out of unemployment funds. The unfortunate reality of living in LA is, rent, food and bills are very expensive. Gina and I don't want to move from LA, as we feel like we are the closest we've ever been in having our writing dreams come true, but we have to do what we must for ourselves and our puppy.
$3,000 would allow Gina to still live in LA for 2 months. Hopefully this will be enough time for Gina to find a new job.
Gina is often the first to help others, as she was part of the preWGA strike Twitter account, organizing meet-ups, dropping off food and drinks at different studios and of course, striking for the WGA and SAG. This was all volunteer work, because she believes the people that create the shows and movies that everyone loves deserve to get the pay and benefits that they deserve.
Additionally, Gina also volunteers at Ace LA, a resource group for asexual and aromantic people. Gina volunteers her time at panels and conferences, spreading the word of this often misunderstood sexual orientation so that others don't feel alone.
The time has come to help Gina. If you're able, even $1 would help. If you can't help with funds, please share this fundraiser if you can.
If you would like to give directly to Gina, please Venmo Gina-G3.
Thank you so much for your time.
update: we’ve officially reached 100% of our goal. Anything extra is for groceries or bills. But Gina can now pay for her rent for the next 2 months. Thank you thank you thank you everyone for donating and/or sharing. It truly means the world
