Help Ginger Blake with Rehab
Hello, my name is Aleah Blake. My mother, Ginger Blake has struggled with alcoholism almost her whole life. She had a very traumatic period of her teenage years, that she never got the professional help she so desperately needed and turned to alcohol to numb the pain she was suppressing. Unfortunately, my mother got a DUI September of 2019. She has since then gotten a sponsor, a counselor she works with daily, gone to AA meetings religiously, all while maintaining her full-time job as a massage therapist in Key West, Florida. But most importantly I got to know my mom all over again and rebuild a relationship that her and I so desperately craved. Nearly two years after the DUI occurred, she was told on her birthday August 3rd, that she needed to find a rehab by September 12th or else they will be sending my mother away to jail. My mother is not a criminal, she has a disease. Sending her to jail is NOT going to be rehabilitating, however, sending her to a 28 day program where she can work through her underlying issues and figure out what exactly it is that drives her to drink WILL BE. My mother will be attending Twelve Oaks Recovery Center in Navarre, Florida. Unfortunately she does not have insurance, so the program alone is 15,000. I put a goal of 17,000 because she will be out of work for a month and will have rent, bills, etc,
Please, even if it is just $5, then that is $5 closer we are to getting my mom the help she needs. I want to be able to continue to rebuild a relationship with the woman who gave me life. But most importantly I want her healthy, and she will not get any better in a jail cell.
A 28 day rehab would address the underlying reasons why my mother drinks and how to deal with them. This is very difficult for me to post so if you think something negative, please don't say it because things are hard enough on my mom as it is. She is genuinely a wonderful person and would give the shirt off her back for those who needed it. Please help me help my momma get the help she deserves.
