Ginny Dove is known and loved by so many people. Whether you know her as your family, friend, teammate in one of her many hobbies, cookie lady, or the stranger who sparked up a conversation with you at the checkout line. She never shows up anywhere empty handed, she’ll even flag down delivery drivers and run them out a cold drink to show them they’re appreciated. She is someone who knows every child’s name that rides her school bus, and goes above and beyond to make them smile, even if it means dressing up like a clown for the day. By those who know her best, Ginny has been one of the most selfless individuals time and time again. Despite working 3 jobs to make ends meet for her children, she still found the time to be her daughter’s girl scout leader and would never miss a sports game. Ginny is the glue that holds her family together, bringing us together every Sunday night for a home cooked meal and bonding time.
After some difficult months of health issues, Ginny received the terrifying diagnosis of Metastatic Breast Cancer. What started as intermittent bone pain led to the discovery of malignant tumors throughout her spine. After weeks of tests the answers shocked us. Like everything in life she has taken the news in stride, leaving her friends in family in awe once again. Although she often times is on the other end by lending a hand, it’s her turn to feel supported. We find ourselves with many questions about the future, but one thing that’s for sure is that Ginny is going to continue living life bonding with her children and especially her two favorite girls: her granddaughters Nora and Vivian. You can bet you’ll be seeing her at a pool league, pickle ball or bowling tournament as she remains a busy body, even if it’s by cheering on her friends from the sideline.
As Ginny has had time to process and begin treatment, many people have asked how they can help. It is no secret that this journey can become expensive, especially as she has for the time being stepped away from working as a bus driver since the risks of continuing are too high due to her immune compromised state. These funds will ensure Ginny can focus on what’s most important after this eye opening diagnosis, spending time with her family and kicking cancer's ass.
