Help Giovanni with his Medical and Legal needs.

Some of you will remember our family member Giovanni Roggiero II. Gio was the DJ for Salsa events at the Dance Space, Havana '59, and other places around Richmond, Virginia. He was a salsa dance instructor in Richmond from 2008 until 2017. His skill grew to the point where he was also invited to teach salsa at events in the DC area such as The Salsa Room, and Mr. Mambo's. He also taught in Lynchburg, Charlottesville, and Virginia Beach.

Over the last two years he has worked for one company in the construction industry, has lived alone, and largely lead a solitary life.

In May of 2023 Gio was stopped by the police for a traffic violation. Although he was unarmed, he was shot three times by the police. By God's grace he survived the attack. We are limited in what can be said about this due to an ongoing investigation.

As you can imagine, he is now faced with recovering from this medically and legally. Some that may have familiarity with details surrounding this whole issue will have questions. We do too. There is not much we can say in a forum like this but just know that so much of what has happened to him has been the result of things not fully under his control.

Our family is asking for help from the community. We ask for contributions to help with his expenses as he recovers from these gun shot wounds and as he and his legal counsel address these matters in a court of law.

We greatly appreciate whatever help you can provide financially and we also ask that you bring these matters to God in prayer.
