Help Gisela with Rehab after Stroke

Gisela's insurance is NOT covering her rehab so as of right now, she will not be going to rehab after the hospital. I am hoping that we can raise enough to change this and help her get the help she needs, so please if you can, ANYTHING helps. $1, $5, $20, sharing on your social media, anything is extremely helpful.

Thankfully the bleeding has stopped and she is gaining more movement, but this is the beginning of her journey to normalcy. Thank you to everyone who has supported!

Hello, my name is Donna and this fundraiser is for my mother in law Gisela. On December 28th 2023, Gisela flew from the US to Germany to visit and help her brother who is struggling with medical issues. On January 3rd at 12:30 AM, we received a frantic call from her brother informing us that she was being taken to the hospital after having a suspected stroke. After many hours of uncertainty, we were informed that she did have a stroke due to high blood pressure and was being monitored for a brain bleed. She is currently stable and speaking, but the future is still quite uncertain and she is now on a long road to recovery. After the hospital, she will require rehab to help her regain movement in her left side as she is currently paralyzed.

Gisela is a mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She spends most of her time worrying about everyone else and puts everyone else's needs before her own. In a time where she was intending to care for someone else, it is now she who needs the help, although she insists she is fine and not to worry.

She has mentioned being unsure if her insurance will cover certain expenses, her much needed rehab being one of them. We are asking whoever can contribute to please consider putting anything towards helping us help her in her recovery so she can come back home to her kids and grandkids. Any assistance is greatly appreciated, Gisela is one of the most selfless and beautiful souls to walk this earth and it pains us to see her in this situation.
