Help give Alex the homecoming he deserves!

Hello, my name Is Brittany Dunn (close family friend) and it is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Shelly and OJ Bryant’s precious son Alex. I want to share a little about Alex’s journey and the amazing family he comes from! Alex was born a normal healthy baby boy on April 5, 1999. Around the age of 5-years old, Alex developed some issues with his vision which officially led to complete blindness by his teen years. This was the beginning of a long health journey for the next 19 years. Alex suffered from debilitating epilepsy and was in and out of the hospital in Atlanta for many years. Nevertheless, Alex had the most precious soul you could ever meet! You would never see Alex without his big, beautiful smile! He loved listening to his music, and he loved cuddling with his mom, dad and siblings. Alex loved Jesus and so many times you would find him singing his favorite gospel songs when on social media! The Bryant’s have a large social media presence to spread awareness regarding Alex’s health condition, which was properly diagnosed in 2019 (Batten Disease). Batten disease is a very rare genetic disorder that affects the brain and nervous system. OJ, Shelly, and their other children have dedicated their lives to ensuring Alex had the most normal life possible, and they did it with so much GRACE! Over the years, most of their household income has gone straight to Alex’s medical care. This is a precious family that needs the community’s help to lay their child to rest the proper way. OJ and Shelly have stood in the gap for many other families during their times of loss and what a beautiful way to honor Alex by doing the same for this family. This GoFundMe is attached to the Bryant’s personal bank account and all donations with go straight to Alex’s funeral expenses. Please continue to keep OJ, Shelly, and their other children in your thoughts and prayers.
