Help give back to a nurse during Chemo
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Morgan. I am Tami Foster's daughter. (Maiden name Tami Morgan). Recently my mom was diagnosed with Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma. This is a rare form of brain cancer that has appeared quite suddenly and changed everything.
My mom was a 3rd shift nurse of over 20 years. An ER nurse for 18 of those years, a long term care nurse for 2, and had just begun her journey into being an ICU nurse when this disease appeared. For the past 3 years, she worked a job and a half to continue providing at home care for patients in addition to her hospital job. She is also an Army veteran, having spent 2 years serving in the Army. When she wasn't busy caring for her human patients, she was caring for her rescue animals on her farm or volunteering at the animal shelter.
She had spent her life dedicated to helping all living beings. Being there for them, even when they faced their worst days.
Until Monday, January 9, 2023. While her and my step-dad were working on the new facility they leased to begin their journey as business owners, my mom found herself with a bad headache and an unwell feeling. After resting she approached my step-dad to tell him what was wrong, only she couldn't speak clearly. She was rushed in to be examined for a possible stroke. While in the ER though, they discovered a mass in her brain. The next days were spent in the hospital running tests and undergoing procedures to end up receiving a cancer diagnosis, primary CNS lymphoma.
With this diagnosis, they suddenly find themselves both jobless as my mom is unable to work for atleast the next 6 months while undergoing aggressive, hospital admitted, chemotherapy. My step-dad had also just left his job right before this to get their new business up and running. He will now be facing having to juggle trying to start a new business, while caring for my mom during her aggressive treatments.
Because of this diagnosis lining up with my mom just starting her new job in the ICU and my step-dad leaving his job to dive into their dream of being entrepreneurs. They now find themselves without an income and without medical insurance; trying to quickly get a budding business going to hopefully help support them and their farm/pets.
I'm hoping to help reduce some of the stresses they are facing by raising some money to help them with living expenses and medical expenses, as well as the gas money it will take to drive back and forth for all the chemo treatments.
I hope to show this dedicated nurse, that we can be there for her in her worst days too. Just like she was for all of her patients. ❤️
I appreciate All of you that show your support. Whether it is through donations, physically helping us get the new business building repaired, sharing this post and reaching out to others, or through moral support. You are all so wonderful.
