Help give Brent Hanna mobility and independence.

Hi! My name is Trudy Vilness and I am Brents mom.  I would do anything I could to make my sons life easier. Our family wants him to be free to get out on his own; to go to the gym, get a few groceries, go to the doctor or to even be able to come camping with friends and family and not get stuck just sitting in a lawn chair for hours. We want him to have a mobility chair that is suitable to all terrains.  I know this would give him many opportunities to be more independant and give him a new lease on life.  If we have more money than we need we will use it to help making some other adaptations to help him now and in the future.

This  is Brent Hanna my nephew/son. He lost his mom when he was very very young and we welcomed him as a member of our family, as our son and brother to our 3 boys.
Brent was born with cerebral palsy but his CP did not affect his intellect or speech but greatly affected his mobility because of  joint and skeletal problems and now has arthritis because of injuries from falling. Even with mobility issues he still always has been determined to take part in what ever others where doing. If he couldn’t physically  he would find a way to  participate. He loved hockey but couldnt play so became a part of the team on the bench. His passion is  music so he became a DJ.He is quick witted, intelligent, strong willed, determined and as physically  independent as his body allowed him to be.  He loves his friends and family and believe me there are many. He lives a life of integrity, honesty, loyalty to friends and family, he  respects and values the worth of all people and accepts the flaws we all possess. He has compassion  and sympathy for the misfortune of others. He also has had to live a life of courage and optimism. He has had the courage to overcome a lot of obstacles in the last  43 years, grief, loneliness and his realization that with age his body is not allowing him to be as spontaniuous and independant as he was. He is very optimistic that there is an answer and things will get better.
He lives on his own and is very reliant on friends, family and “taxis” to help him get where he needs or wants to go. Sometimes in everyones busy lives no one is available and now the  only taxi company in town is closing.  He is feeling  totally dependant on others now.  He is becoming frustrated and depressed.
