Help Give Damon Spiller a Proper Memorial

My name is Gina Meekins and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my cousin, LaCraig Joseph, who lost his father, 56-year-old Damon Vancleef Spiller on Sunday, 7/21/24. Damon was fatally shot in his sleep while residing at Harmony House, a shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness, located in Downtown Houston. According to authorities and ABC13, they believe the stray bullet was fired from the I-10 East Freeway ramp from the North I-45 lanes.

As this tragedy was very sudden and unexpected, the family are asking for help from the community to raise funds in order to give Damon a proper send off. All expenses will go towards memorial and repass arrangements. No amount is too small, everything will help. We sincerely appreciate and thank you all in advance. God bless.
