Help Give Deborah Theresa a Dignified Burial

Donation protected
In 2015, cancer was first diagnosed in Deborah Theresa, my mother. She was diagnosed with stage 2 ductal carcinoma breast cancer. She underwent a procedure called cryoblast therapy that essentially freezes the cancer cells, and the patient excretes out the dead cancer cells. Within 18 months, my mother was healed, and we were so thankful. Truly, it was a miracle. She went on a show with a world-renowned endocrinologist to tell her story and hoped to be a blessing to someone else and help save their life.

Nearly 4 years after being cancer-free, we all got the terrible news in 2021 that the cancer came back stage 4 and it metastasized to her liver, lungs, and scalp. She immediately started on therapeutics, taking collagen peptide treatments, mistletoe treatments, and many others. Things were moving along, and her labs were stable, and her inflammation markers were slowly going down.

One year later in 2022, her doctor at the time called her and told my mother we had an SOS. Although my mother was getting her labs tested monthly, somehow they misread her labs and realized that the cancer had spread and it had been three months since it spread. Within weeks, she developed an orange-sized tumor that manifested on my mother’s skull. My mother was scared and felt unsafe with her current doctor and started looking for a new team of doctors. Now she was scared and didn’t know what to do and didn’t want to start chemo, but she felt she had no choice. She also wanted to keep working as she absolutely loved working and loved her job and coworkers, and she felt this was the best option at this point. From the moment she began chemo, that was the beginning of the end. My mother is tough and has been fighting since taking the chemo now for two years. The doctor had to keep changing the type of chemo she was on within the last year since the chemo kept eating away at my mother’s bands that she has on her esophagus.

Since last September, my mother has been in and out of the ER at least twice a month, some months more. In the beginning of the year, my mother’s lungs started filling with liquid. She was getting them drained, and a nurse would come weekly to help her drain the tubes they put in her body to drain the liquid.

My mother had to be put in a coma as she ended up getting an infection after her last procedure to reband her esophagus. She ended going home a couple weeks later.

After being home a couple weeks my mother was admitted this past Friday to the ER. I just spoke with the doctor yesterday, and I was told that she has been assigned a palliative care doctor and they will be transferring her to a skilled nursing living facility, also known as hospice.

Within the last couple of weeks, my mother's body has gone cold. She hasn’t eaten in two weeks and is getting her nutrients through IV’s.

I also found out yesterday that my mother had life insurance but she had “accidental life insurance.” My mother has told me that she wants to be buried at Forest Lawn Drive where her mother and grandmother are buried.

I want to honor my mother’s wishes but she has no money or life insurance. When the time comes, which can be any day now, I just want to know I tried everything I could to give her a decent burial and honor her wishes.

If you’re willing and financially able, please help me and donate towards arrangements for my mother. I’m thankful you took the time to read to the end and any amount is helpful. If you can't donate, I truly understand, and I ask that you please share the fundraiser. With all my heart, I am eternally grateful for any help and support you can offer. Thank you.
