Help Give Herbert Nelson Huezo a Proper Farewell

Hello family and friends,

It is with a heaviest of hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved, Herbert Nelson Huezo. Tragically on August 13, 2024 after a 10 day hospital stay, battling with Covid Pneumonia, Herbert succumbed to his illness and took his final breath at 6:03am. Herbert leaves behind his youngest brother Rafael (Huezo), sister Nancy (Gomez), nephew Ricky (Gomez) and niece Emily (Gomez).

On March 3rd, 1983 proud parents Reina Portillo and Nelson Huezo welcomed their new bundle of joy, Herbert Nelson Huezo, to the world. Herbert was born, raised and lived his whole life in South (Central) Los Angeles along with his brothers Rafael and Elmer.

Herbert's idea of a good time was a cheesy 80s movie on the screen and books, tons of books to read. He loved anime/manga since the 90s before becoming a trend, and he made sure people knew that. He did not like being in crowds, but when it came down to Comic Cons he would always "man up" and psych himself out.

Life has not been kind to the Huezo/Portillo Family, losing the matriarch/mother, Reina Portillo, on November 5th, 2013. Then losing the patriarch/father, Nelson Huezo, 5 months later on March 18th, 2014. And finally last year losing middle brother, Elmer Elliot Huezo, after his passing on June 15, 2023.
