Help give hope to the Miner Family
Donation protected
Just like most families, the Miner family planned a weekend getaway. They simply just wanted to be together, put their toes in the sand and relax before they had to face the hustle of getting everyone ready for the new school year.
Unfortunately, (like all vacations) it was short lived.
Back to realty! It was time to focus on school supply shopping. During that week after getting home, Mom, "Andria Miner" had developed a cough. Pushing through like all moms do, she wrote it off as being a head cold and it will pass.
Another week goes by and symptoms are getting worse and breathing became more difficult.
Wednesday August 1st, her husband Pat urgently drove her to the nearest hospital. Staff immediately admitted her and diagnosed her with bronchitis. The very next day it progressed into pneumonia...
Andria had developed all the symptoms; coughing, fever, shallow breathing, body aches etc. and there was no sign of her getting better with the treatments.
Her heart stopped that following night. Friday, August 3rd.....
Doctors thankfully were able to revive her. They decided to transfer her to a different hospital since she was not responding to the treatment.
She was placed in a induced coma in the ICU.
After some blood work, she was diagnosed with "Legionnaires Disease". A rare strand of pneumonia that was discovered in 1976.
Health departments reported about 6,100 cases of Legionnaires’ disease in the United States in 2016. (https://www.cdc.gov/legionella/about/history.html)
The bacteria is still spreading and Andria is still in a coma. The Miner family is trying to keep hope that she will pull through but nothing is certain.
I would like to ask that you donate to help this family. A family that was shocked by this unforeseen sickness.
All contributions will help Pat keep his family a float in this challenging time. But more importantly help him purchase school supplies for Patrick ( going into 7th grade) and Mason (going into 6th) and clothes/supplies for 6 month old Winter.
