Help Give Mr. Freeze a Dignified Farewell
Donation protected
If you are a resident, former resident or even a frequent visitor of Hoover, Al., you have likely been to the Riverchase Galleria and seen Mr. Freeze aka The Galleria Elvis walking inside the mall. Mr. Freeze was seen there daily. He had some very distinctive characteristics, which made him stick out amongst even the largest crowds. Some have stories of interactions and conversations with Mr. Freeze and he had quite a life story. Sadly, Mr. Freeze passed away on August 26, 2024. Unfortunately all attempts by the coroner's office, hospital, local news, social media to reach any living relatives have been unsuccessful other than one living relative who was identified but that person has said they do not wish to claim his body nor pay for the cost of his burial. We are working to raise money to have Mr. Freeze laid to rest. I am willing to help but financially we can't cover the cost of everything on our own. We can get him out of the morgue, they can list me as his "next of kin" or something similar so I can take responsibility for his remains and just make sure he's laid to rest. I am working with Currie-Jefferson funeral home in Hoover, Mr. Freeze's social worker, the Jefferson County coroner's office, to take all of the necessary steps to give Mr. Freeze a proper burial and service. We need help from the community, the state and anyone and everyone who knew Mr. Freeze, or even knew of him to help make this possible. Currie-Jefferson has stepped up in a HUGE way and they have really gone above and beyond to help. But they are a business and have to be paid. We just need the community to rally together for "Galleria Elvis". Please donate, no matter how much. It is going to such a special cause and giving dignity to an otherwise very undignified situation. Any extra we collect we go into a fund to help a family in a similar situation. Thank you all, on behalf of Mr. Freeze.
