help give our grandma her last wish

Our grandmother, Generosa Rodriguez, passed away December 31, 2021 after a 4 month long battle in the hospital. She suffered from congestive heart failure along with other illnesses, but still continued fighting. She was blessed to have her youngest daughter, Lisette, care for her for the past 11 years, which made it possible for her to live a very fulfilling, happy life.

It wasn’t until early September when she was hospitalized for Covid-19 that she took a turn for the worse. We are hoping to receive a very small amount of money from public assistance for help towards the funeral costs. However, with the expenses of the hospital stays and continuous amount of caretaking involved, the savings and other assistance does not cover the cost of the burial and church services; the service being one of her last wishes. Her faith in the church was one of her greatest passions and what she strongly believed in. Any donation would be greatly appreciated, we really hope to give our Grandma the funeral arrangements she wanted and deserves.

She didn’t have much, but she gave everything she could to help anyone she loved or cared for. Generosa, means generous, and it was truly fitting of her spirit. She was fun, fierce, and spoke her mind. She was a true rebel, being one of the first of her siblings to leave Puerto Rico.

She is survived by her 4 children, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her, and she had a big one. She is 1 of 13 kids, with about half still living in Puerto Rico and the rest in the States. She was adored by many and will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
