Help Give Our Students a Movie Theater Experience! ✨
Hi friends,
I’m a second-grade teacher at a small Title 1 school in the Bay Area, and I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request.
This school year has been filled with challenges — but also so much joy, growth, and resilience. Now, as we near the end of the year, I want to give my students one final, unforgettable memory: a field trip to the movie theater.
For many of our kids, this won’t just be a fun day out — it will be their very first time ever stepping into a movie theater.
We’re planning to take two full classrooms of bright, curious, and deserving students to see Lilo & Stitch — a story about ohana, family, and the bonds that carry us through hard times. It couldn’t be more fitting.
But because our district is facing a budget crisis, there’s no money to make this trip happen. That’s why I’m turning to you.
This trip will also directly support our learning: students will be practicing their compare and contrast skills by connecting the live Action movie to the animated version. It’s not just fun — it’s meaningful, standards-based learning wrapped in joy.
With your help, we’ll be able to cover: ️ Admission costs
Safe transportation
A small snack — for many, a rare treat
Every dollar you give helps us give our students a memory they’ll cherish for the rest of their lives. The look of wonder when the lights dim, the giggles during the movie, the thoughtful conversations afterward — this is what you’ll be gifting them.
Thank you for helping us create a little magic, a little learning, and a whole lot of love.
With all my heart,
--Juana
